Whether it is medical advice, prescribing treatments and prescriptions, or medical certificates, Practice Plus provides you with a quick and easy solution. All you need is: internet connection and an internet connected device such as a smart phone, computer or tablet with video capability and speakers. Then simply tap on your allocated link sent via email or test to start your appointment.

Before your appointment you will be required to enter in some basic information and your pre-payment details (credit or debit card). You will not be charged until your appointment is complete and your receipt will be sent to your email.

You can either choose to wait in queue for the first available appointment or book a scheduled appointment that suits you. If you have scheduled an appointment, Practice Plus will send you a confirmation of your appointment time via text and email; as well as a reminder 15 minutes before your appointment.

To start the consult, simply tap on the link on the device of your choice. We recommend you click on this link 5 minutes beforehand, ready for the GP to see you. You will wait in a virtual meeting room, you can test your camera and sound while you wait. If you need a prescription, it will be emailed to your preferred pharmacy. Your patient notes from the appointment will be shared with your regular GP for continuity of care. Please let the GP know if you do not want your notes to be shared.

Tips for the virtual consultation.

  1. Have your current medications handy and have a pen and paper to write down what you want to discuss, and any follow up actions.
  2. Choose somewhere private where you can talk freely and safely. If others are present, let the GP know, you can use the chat function if needed.
  3. Hands-free devices offer a better call experience. If you are using a smartphone or tablet, find a way to prop it so you can move around freely.
  4. Check you are clear about instructions during the appointment for medication, work certificates, self-care advice at home, and warning signs you need to seek further care.

Cost for a consultation:
