I used to be a dancer, and I have a bachelor’s degree in ballet, in which I studied sports massage therapy and pilates. Performing ballet from 1985 until 2009, I sustained numerous injuries, and sports massage therapy was the best way for me to recover from them as well as improve my performances. My experience as a dancer helps me deeply understand sports injuries.
Ballet was my life, but my genuine interest in injury rehabilitation has inspired me to earn a diploma in sports massage therapy and a certificate as a yoga trainer. For 6 years, I worked as a massage therapist as well as ran rehabilitation exercise classes in a clinic in Seoul. In New Zealand, I have been working as a sports massage therapist for nearly 8 years and with my clients ranging from office workers and gym goers to elite sporting teams, such as in rugby, baseball and cricket.
My joy is to see my clients’ recovery as well as to help maintain it in order to improve their quality of life.
